A caring parent knows the importance of his or her child being able to read. Some parents begin reading to the child while the child is still inside the womb. This gives the infant the security of hearing the soft tones of the mother and father’s voice. Even though the child has not been born as of yet the infant is familiar with the sound, words, and gentle tone of voice literature.

Then once the baby has been born and the parents read to the infant, this does help the child when he or she begins school. The child is familiar with and can recognize words, and the sounds of the letters.

It is also just as important to pick the proper Literature for the child. In this day and time, it is very hard to choose what is good or bad for the child. One-way that many parents distinguish between the good and the bad literature. Is to read a chapter or two first if the text is disturbing to you or you feel uncomfortable just reading the text. Then this literature is not a good choice for you child’s library.

Parents do not want to choose children’s literature that is, over, wrought with violence for a bedtime story. This will surely give any child nightmares. Even children’s books filled with ghosts and ghouls are not appropriate bedtime literature. The child should be comfortable not fearful if it is bedtime. The child should be entertained and learning if it is day time.

Parents should select literature with stories and children resting and children at peaceful play. Stories filled with soft cuddly animals and teddy bears. Literature about angles and bible stories are excellent literature for any child. Family being together and having fun is a good choice as well.

It is important that parents choose good literature than literature can improperly influence their children in ways negative. It is just as important to choose literature filled with the proper characters and themes or lessons for the child to follow. Some good quality literature does still exist and even if the literature does not exist or you cannot choose. Then there is an alternative to fall back on.

Some parents write down their own stories using their child as the characters. By doing this, you are placing your child into the story and letting him or her decide what they should do in certain situations. This is a perfect way to teach your children; the proper values you wish for your child to learn. This also helps the parents to discover if his or her child is developing properly mentally.

An example: If your child is in a story and faced with helping, a friend to do something that was wrong. You ask your child what he or she would do if this if they would help the friend yes or no. If your child says yes they would help the friend then you know your child needs help distinguishing between right and wrong. It is all up to you the parent to teach your child the difference between good and bad start with their literature.

Books can have a great influence on the way children develop their personalities, and this is the main reason why you as a parent should be extremely careful with the books you offer to your child. It is advisable to choose creations that have won book awards at their category.

The age of your child does not matter, as long as he can read or you can read for him. The children’s book award rates books on different categories. For example, books classify according to the age of their target readers. In this manner, you will be able to choose books based on the age of your child, or according to his or her interests. Book awards go to creations targeting children between the ages of four and eight or for those between the ages of nine, twelve, and older.

Children book awards also consider the subject of creations for children and rank them according to their value. You will be able to choose easily publications that have won children book awards. Books are very important for children, as they can find out many things from them. Books can also influence the manner in which children think about different topics, such as violence, crime, family, pets, parents, and so on. It is very important for a work of art that has won a children book award to possess a certain amount of useful information and to be captivating, as children must feel hooked on reading a certain book.

Books that generally target adults, even if they are valuable and obtain a book award, may not always suit the needs of children. These works of art may come as dull or they may not penetrate the understanding of younger readers, so one must not force children to read books that do not suit them. Such a thing could result in the fact that children will no longer be interested in reading, as they will find all literature boring and meaningless.

Children book awards also recommend many creations that will help enrich children’s imagination, but you should also consider your children’s personality before offering them something to read. You should try enriching their personality and encouraging them to read more about their areas of interest rather than trying to change them. You cannot force a child to love the same books you did when you were a child.

A great thing about children book awards is the fact that you can even offer your opinion on the books you have read. In this manner, you can make sure that only the best creations win literature awards. So, after you and your child finish a children’s book, log on and write a review on a specialized site in order to help other parents choose better books for their kids.

Overall, you should always consider encouraging children to read, and, when choosing the books you want to offer them, it is a good idea to consider giving them stories that have won literature awards.

What is it that makes people (even non-readers) want to put pen to paper?

Perhaps it’s the desire for fame and fortune, the need to earn the respect of others, or maybe it’s just the wish to leave some mark on the future, a permanent record of a life lived.

Whatever the reason, for those who actually complete a manuscript, the odds of seeing it published by a reputable firm are slim.

For the estimated 2 million manuscripts currently completed, there are only 64,000 publishers of record, and only a fraction of those are actively seeking new manuscripts.

So what are the millions of hopeful authors to do?

Well, the first step would be to ensure their manuscripts are the best they can be. This can be done by re-writing, editing, proofreading by an outside firm or even by a well-read and literate friend.

Even then, most of those two million books stand no chance of being accepted by a traditional publisher. Those authors that do make the cut are not necessarily the best writers, but rather are those who can sell themselves and their stories most convincingly.

Some authors, after rejections from the trade, will find themselves victims of vanity publishers, who take advantage of the hopes and aspirations of writers to extract an exorbitant fee to ‘publish’ their book.

Luckier will be the writers who publish through firms like iUniverse and Lulu, for although their books will likely never see wide distribution, at least their losses will be minimal.

And finally there are the select few who decide to become publishers themselves, even if it is only to self-publish their own book.

These publishers will find great obstacles, and a great deal of work in this route, but the challenge and reward of having one’s success or failure entirely in one’s own hands is a powerful feeling.

Whether they choose to publish electronically, or use short run printing service like Lightning Print, or even to go full boar with a print run of 1,000 or more, their success depends on how well they sell themselves and their story to others.

And so, if you are about to embark on a new manuscript, educate yourself thoroughly about the industry, its scams, and potential pitfalls. And more importantly, learn to market yourself well, for this, more than any other skill, is the determining factor in your success or failure.

First off, is self-publishing worth it? If you have a story idea that would appeal to a lot of readers, or is considered more mainstream or genre (think romance, science fiction, mystery), or if you have a non-fiction story that many people can relate to, then you should try to find a publisher. And an agent.

Finding a publisher (or agent) is admittedly hard for an unpublished author – but it does happen. After all, go back far enough and you’ll find a point where Stephen King and J.K. Rowling were unpublished nobodies. They got their chance and so can you. It’s easy enough to get dispirited when you see the likes of Nichole Ritchie or Madonna getting book deals just because they’re famous – but publishers also like to take chances on unknowns, often because it costs them a lot less to sign.

Having said that, if your book will only appeal to a very small market, or if you have plans to sell it yourself (as an adjunct to lectures, for example, or in conjunction with your crafts), it may make more sense to self-publish.

There are four basic methods to self-publishing your book:

1. Lay out the book yourself, design the cover yourself, and pay a printer to print 200-1,000 copies which you’ll then have to keep on hand while you try to get them stocked in bookstores or sell them yourself.

2. Pay a vanity press a lot of money for them to lay the book out, design the cover, and print a small number of copies. Why a small number? Well, they don’t think you’ll be selling (or giving away) more than a few.

3. Pay a print-on-demand company like iUniverse or Xlibris some money for them to layout the book and design the cover, and have it ready to be printed whenever someone buys a copy (‘on demand’).

4. Sell it electronically.

You may not have considered selling an electronic version of your book, but you should. Here’s why:

1. No upfront costs. You can download templates to format your manuscript, and you can also download free software that will convert your word processing document into Adobe PDF (portable document format) files, the most common type of files for ebooks.

2. No worry about printing or reprinting. You can sell as many or as few copies of your ebook without having to figure out how many books to print ahead of time. It simply doesn’t cost anything to duplicate an electronic file.

3. Easy to set up. There’s no need to contract with booksellers or distributors; sell the ebook yourself on your own Web site or blog, or even your Facebook or MySpace page.

Many top Internet gurus have sold books through these outlets. They have sold books based on their seminars, workshops, and business tactics. These books are highly valuable, but only if everybody knows about them. If your book shows up on Amazon and Barnes and Noble with little fanfare then you will experience low sales which can be devastating to your bottom line.

The basics of promoting your book include letting people know the title, cost, and publication date. How do you promote these details in the most effective manner to massive audiences that will want to buy your book? Read on to find little known tips from top Internet gurus who have traveled this path before you.

Book Launch Tip #1: Focus on Amazon.com first. It is more difficult to drive traffic to Amazon.com so you want to conquer that task in the beginning. Then focus on sending traffic to Barnes and Noble.com. Plus, achieving an Amazon.com bestseller designation is worth its weight in gold.

Book Launch Tip #2: A great way to drive traffic to either Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.com is to have an opt-in page on your website. Once people subscribe to your list automatically send them to your Amazon.com (or Barnes and Noble.com) landing page where they can buy the book.

Book Launch Tip #3: Verify that your book information appears correctly on Amazon. Make sure that the title, author, price, etc. are correct before people are sent to your page. If your page has errors then it will look unprofessional and may turn away customers.

Book Launch Tip #4: Don’t make your book launch schedule too short. Some people try to complete a book launch in 45 days which is very difficult. There are so many details to take care of that people don’t realize how long they actually take. For example, obtaining an ISBN number can take a long time.

Book Launch Tip #5: Don’t wait until the last minute to find joint venture partners. Try to find these partners well in advance because you want people to commit to your book launch right from the start. In order to obtain joint ventures you need to establish and build relationships earlier as well. For example, the minute you determine that you are going to launch a book is the minute you should get on the phone and call your friends and colleagues for their support and joint venture possibilities.

What Is Urdu Poetry?

This is a poetry that has been around for many years and there are many famous poets that have been doing it for many years. It’s really not that much different from American poetry except that you will need to know how to read Hindu or have a program that is able to read the language. It’s a very pretty way of looking at most things in the world and helps you to understand the things that are around you. If you have ever taken the time to read it, you will see what many people see in it when they do read it and finally understand what it is and why they should read it in the long run.

How Do You Find It?

When you start looking for Urdu poetry, you may notice that you will have a harder time finding it in most places. The Internet is going to be the best place to look for this kind of poetry. You will need to take the time to look for the good sites as well as finding the proper ways to read it. When you start looking for it you may also be able to find Urdu poetry in the library for check out and reading. You should check with your local library and find out if they have this kind of book or poetry. Your local library will most likely have a collection of works that you can read and understand with a little help and a little time to learn the language.

Why Should You Read It?

You will want to read this kind of poetry so that you can be a better rounded person. Knowing this kind of poetry will help you be happier and will help you to understand what you are looking for in poetry. Hindu poetry can be some of the most beautiful kinds to read and look at. Many people take for granted the need to be multicultural and understand more then one language. You can learn this great language at least enough to understand what you are reading and what you may want to see in it.

There are many things that you should think about when you are looking to read Urdu poetry because of the high cultural content that you can get from it. Many people look at this kind of poetry and then go on. They don’t want to take the time to understand what they can get out of it and what they could do with the knowledge that these poems can bring. You should take the time to learn what they are saying and what wonderful and new things you can learn from the poems themselves.

This is a story told in poetic form by the American poet and photographer Joseph Randell Sherman.

Intellectually charged with twelve full-color illustrations, authored by PA based artist Gianetta Ellis, this epic poem is a journey of mythic proportions. Hailed as one of the most ingenious and bold literary undertaking in a generation, he shares a splendid narrative of how Great Britain was formed. A young Prince Albion becomes a king when he is but a babe in the arms of a knight forced to rescue him. This same knight helps him on the road of life and in the ways of becoming a leader. Readers follow King Albion through his life – as he matches wits with a wizard, receives his tutelage and tames a dragon until he falls in love and has a son of his own. The road of a king is long and winding. In this case, a king of great legion founds a homeland – a small great nation; indeed, a legend is born.

“The Legend of Albion” is Joseph Randell Sherman’s first epic poem for children. He uses also the pen names of Joseph Randell and Joseph* ~ OneLight*®, is an American ex-pat living in Portugal. As a poet and photographer, his earlier work has been included in six anthologies and been distinguished by a number of international awards. He is the author of “Songs of Love”, a collection of romantic poems, and “Echoes from Within”, a book of haiku. Another creation, “Universes Beyond the Visible ~ Elements of Dream”, is a book of photography with bilingual texts (English and Portuguese) of poetry and poetic prose coauthored with Alexandra Oliveira, his partner.

You can buy “The Legend of Albion” and his other works at the bookstores online. Online bookstores are the most reliable place to search for your child’s favourite books. The best aspect is that you can avail these books easily right from your home. All you need to do is, select the book and order it online.

All these are various types of bookbinding. Obviously you have to practice different methods to become perfect at them. You can start with the simplest and work your way to the difficult ones.

First of all you must have the material and equipment. As a beginner you can start with these things

    * sharp thing to make holes ( an awl )
* large needle
* thread ( carpet thread, nylon thread etc. )
* glue ( pva, or any strong glue )
* paper clamp ( to hold papers together tightly )
* cardboard or corrugated paper
* ream of papers

Keep all the above things at a certain place so that you can find them at any time.

The best way to learn something is to start small. This will help you to get the basics right and if you do something wrong then the loss will be minimal. The first thing you have to make for a book is signatures. Signature is nothing but folded paper. You can make signatures with one paper or two or more as you wish. Every book will have several signatures which are fastened together. This can be done by sewing the signatures together and then applying glue on the spine or just by applying the glue. The stack of fastened signatures forms the internal of the book.

A cover attached to the book will make it complete. The various types of covers are paperback, hard covers, leather and other types. Most of us will have paperback and hardbound books. Here’s what you can do to understand bookbinding better, take a book which is old and you no longer need it. Tear it apart slowly and see the inside. This way you will know the inner workings of binding a book.

Book are published, marketed, sold and distributed the same way they have been since the birth of the business. Certainly prices have changed dramatically, shipments are better coordinated, cover designs have evolved, merchandising has improved, but the basic business rules have not. Today there are still three general rules that apply to the business of publishing.

Rule number one: Every book is guaranteed to the bookseller, meaning, if they don’t sell at the bookstore, the publisher guarantees they’ll take them back. Returned books are as common place as paper and ink. Books have always been returnable. There are few if any retailers still in existence that will purchase newly published non-returnable books. The fallacy of this is that today, 2008, there are still some publishers that force their authors to pay several hundred dollars for the right to have their book considered returnable. Returnable books should be standard for any book contract. This is a clear example of how some publishers are not fluent in the ways of the business, and as a result they take advantage and prey on the pocketbooks of unsuspecting, and uninformed authors.

Rule number two: The business is about revenue, selling books. However there are two ways to look at revenue. For the Independent publishers and authors, revenue is when a book is sold and the money changes hands, that is a sale and represents the cleanest form of revenue. For the biggest publishers and all the others that want to compete in the marketplace, revenue is both gross and net. Gross is the number of copies multiplied by the cover price. This does not account for the returns that will eventually arrive at the publisher’s warehouse. The net price is what is left after all those books have been returned and counted. The big companies play with these numbers in a variety of ways and if you plan to compete in this market, you must be aware of this fact.

Rule number three: Bookseller real estate is for lease. When you walk into a bookstore and notice all those wonderful displays with multiple copies of the bestsellers, then you stroll down the aisles and look at the covers laying face up on the tables, keep in mind — this is not accidental. These retailers aren’t doing any favors. All of that space has been leased by the publisher of those titles for a specified period of time. In fact, virtually all of the floor space is for lease, if you can afford the price. Typically the front of the store is the most expensive real estate and the price goes down slightly as you move to the back of the store. Bottom line, retail space in major retailers, including bookstores and mass merchants, is for lease.

William Shakespeare was born on 26 April 1564 and died on 23 April 1616. He was a famous playwright and an English poet. William Shakespeare is regarded as one of the greatest writer and is also considered as one of the pre-eminent dramatist. William Shakespeare has been parsed and dissected and studied in ways that could pluck the joy out of anyone. But Shakespeare wrote to entertain the common people of Elizabethan England, as well as the cultured elite, and he had a matchless ability to touch the hearts of his audience-often making them laugh and cry at the same time.

Yet Shakespeare wrote not to hide his meaning under lofty phrases, but to share his wisdom with those around him, in ways that were playful as well as profound. We see in his plays as well as his poetry that he can reorder words and their conventional arrangements almost at will, achieving a matchless expression of ideas. In his sonnets, though some arrangements stem from needing a rhyme to fit the patter, the result is some of the loveliest verses known to English literature.

The sonnet was a popular form of poetry in Elizabethan times throughout Europe. Shakespeare’s choice of the English form of sonnet allowed him an almost limitless flexibility of expression. This chosen form let him resolve or continue his themes as the mood struck him, and he often continued his thoughts through the quatrain division. Still, most modern editor use the sonnet form to guide their choice of modernized punctuation, reasoning that each quatrain usually marks the end of a completed thought.

Most commonly, sonnets reflected a wretched lover, agonizing over the conflicting emotions of lust and idealized love. Shakespeare’s sonnets often convey larger contradictions as well, showing a contrast between beauty and cold reality, hope and despair. The structured form required discipline and creativity, but from these conflicts Shakespeare the Sonneteer could explore his innermost self, in much the same way that the soliloquy of an actor would reveal the soul of a character on the stage. Yet Shakespeare the Artist was often hidden between the lines of his verses, and despite the temptation of modern scholars, we know too little about the man himself to drawn any firm conclusions from the lines of his poetry.

Despite the speculation of modern scholars, it is doubtful that the author intended them to form a unified narrative. Narrative was more suitable for his plays and narrative poems, and he probably regarded his sonnets simply as short poems. It is likely that he composed them simply as inspiration struck, or to pass the time between other projects and pursuits. If so, then imposing a theme or narrative thread on the entire collection is simply the product of our own imagination, and an attempt to find order in the chaos of existence. Since the author was als a successful businessman and playwright and businessman, it is unlikely that he would have conceived of the collection with any overarching theme when he was writing. And he probably wrote his sonnets when the mood struck him-or a patrons request moved him to write.

William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist. He was acclaimed for his several sonnets and several poems. Shakespeare’s sonnets are hardly his meatiest works, but in many ways they are his most accessible. William Shakespeare will always remain a supreme name in the world of English literature.
